Dr. Isaac Ampofo, DNP

Dr. Isaac Ampofo is a leader in Connecticut’s aging services field. With more than a decade of experience spanning caregiving, homecare management, and healthcare systems leadership, he brings empathy and expertise to every case.
Before founding CMC (Compass Medicaid Consultants LLC) , Dr. Ampofo served as a caregiver for eight years — an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to supporting families through aging and long-term care transitions. Today, he leads both Compass Medicaid Consultants and AMP Homecare in a non-clinical, non-legal capacity, focusing on Medicaid access, case coordination, and senior advocacy.
Dr. Ampofo holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Yale University and Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions (MGIHP) respectively. His academic achievements also include:
    • Certificate in Health Care Economics – Harvard University
    •  Master’s in International Studies – University of Connecticut
    • Certificate in Non-Profit/Profit Management – University of Connecticut
    •  BA in Political Science – University of Ghana – Legon

Akua A Okyere

Director of Business Development

At Compass Medicaid Consultants LLC, Akua Achiaa Okyere leads business development with a clear purpose: to make Medicaid services , accessible, equitable and comprehensive, offering a blend of expertise, analytics-driven strategy and caregiver advocacy within the field of long-term care.
With a strong and formidable background at the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS), Akua brings insider knowledge of HUSKY C, LTSS, and Medicaid Waiver programs. Her hands-on experience in eligibility reviews, policy development, staff training, and quality assurance will ensure that Compass clients receive the most accurate guidance and streamlined support throughout the Medicaid process.
Akua pairs her frontline expertise with strategic vision. Holding an MBA in Management and Analytics from the University of Bridgeport, she designs efficient service systems, strengthens intake and CRM processes, and builds trusted partnerships with advocates for seniors, nursing facilities, and care coordinators across the state.
Her career began with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Ghana, where she championed community health and youth education initiatives. She later expanded her global perspective through work with the British Council in Ghana and the UK, supporting vulnerable persons and families through transitions.
At Compass, Akua is the driving force behind partnership growth, caregiver advocacy, and culturally responsive care initiatives. Families working with her quickly recognize not only her professional expertise but also her compassion and commitment to ensuring no one feels overlooked or unheard in the Medicaid process.
